Auburn University competes in NCAA Equestrian, and 501(c)3 therapy programs are scattered across the state. Most of them will look hard at a quiet horse with good manners.
Questions we get about Alabama
- How is a racking horse valued?
- On the gait first: how smooth it is, how even, and whether it holds at speed. Show record and soundness come next. The comparables come from gaited sales, because stock horse prices say nothing useful about a racker.
- Can you appraise a trail horse with no show record?
- Yes. A sound, proven trail horse has a real market in Alabama. We value it on temperament, age, soundness, and what similar horses have actually sold for, and the report says there was no record to lean on.
